The Family behind the Family Practice

Every morning in Pandosy Village, you will see Dr. Jason Rowan walk his kids from home to school, just across the street from Pandosy Village Veterinary Hospital.

We live right in your neighborhood

Jason and his wife Arnica, along with our two little girls, two dogs, two cats, and two Guinea pigs, call Kelowna home. We've chosen to invest in this growing urban neighbourhood and set up our family-run clinic and store within walking distance of their home. The decision to live and work in Pandosy Village is both a lifestyle and environmental decision, for a high quality of life for our family and a lower ecological footprint. We are active members of the Kelowna community. Jason is a volunteer with Canadian Ski Patrol, and you can see him skiing the slopes at Big White with his emergency vest and stretcher. As well as veterinary degree, Jason also is certified in CSP First Aid.  Hopefully, you won't need his help, though! Jason is an NFL fan (aka fanatic) and cheers for the San Francisco 49ers.

Arnica runs a charity in Ethiopia called Vulnerable Children Society, that helps kids and families affected by extreme poverty and HIV. She travels there once or twice a year to check on projects, but mostly manages the programs from her home office. Arnica is an active advocate in environmental community, as a volunteer and consultant. She also runs another home based business, which sells hair and body care products for children of African heritage.

As a family, we are active in the local adoption community and the Ethiopian Canadian adoption community, as our children were born in Ethiopia. We organize the Families with Children from Africa group and have mentored several families through the adoption process and parenting.

We have gorgeous 9 year old twin daughters, and as a family, we travel, garden, have dinner parties, go wine tasting, hike, and eat too much frozen yogurt.

Our business is built on our family's values: compassion, responsibility and self reliance.
