Official Vet of BARK UBC
Supporting UBC's Canine Therapists
Pandosy Village Veterinary Hospital is proud to be the official veterinary hospital for the University of British Columbia's BARK dog therapy program. With over 60 dog/human therapy teams, BARK (Building Academic Retention Through K9s) is the largest campus support program in all of Canada, and an off-shoot program even provides support for RCMP staff and officers. B.A.R.K. research has been featured in WebMD, Psychology Today and American Kennel Club.
Since 2018, Pandosy Vet has been supporting this amazing program. From advising on behavioural training, handler/therapist screening, nutrition, health issues and more, to co-authoring academic articles, and providing a place for training, our clinic team has played a role ensuring the health, comfort and safety of the dogs, handlers, and program participants.
Currently, Pandosy Vet offers the following to active B.A.R.K. participants:
- Whole food discounts to keep BARK canine therapists happy and healthy
- Discounted toys and treats, because, you know, they have to have fun!
- Free weigh ins to keep canine therapists slim and trim
- Discounts on all veterinary services, from dentistry to surgery, laser, chiropractic, acupuncture and more
*Handlers, please see the BARK program manager for Pandosy Vet benefit details and limitations.
